The Porcelain Workshop

by Alisa Furoyama | September 11, 2016

We love the texture, design and beautiful composition in each of Barrow's necklaces. No two are alike and each piece has subtle differences. There's something so special about this process. We are excited to be able to offer a hands-on workshop working with porcelain to create your very own necklaces.

This workshop will go over a step-by-step process of making two versions of Barrow's necklaces. The first process will cover hand-building smaller beads from porcelain clay. Lindsay and Rachel will go over techniques as well as best practices. These pieces will get fired after the workshop and will remain unglazed. The second portion will focus on glazing already fired porcelain beads. There will be a variety of glazes to choose from and Barrow will have some examples for inspiration. The final step is learning techniques on textile weaving and braiding to create the base of the necklaces. All components will ship directly to you after the final firing process so please fill out all of your shipping information during checkout.
