Heather Earnhardt opened the always bustling Wandering Goose at the end of 2012 on Capitol Hill. Born in North Carolina, Heather's daytime cafe bubbles over with vibrant Southern Charm. The space is cozy, with 16 small tables nestled close and people filling every corner headed for the overflowing pastry case. The blackboard announces the special of the day: Cornmeal fried green tomato, Brenton's bacon, and fried egg on the signature biscuit. Even on a rainy Seattle day, the invitation of spot-on comfort food and the sign reminding you to "Be kind, y'all!" draws a lively crowd. We flock to the Goose regularly to get our biscuit fix and a taste of southern family traditions passed down for generations.

Heather is a baker, restaurateur, photographer, mother, gardener and author. To sit aside the children's books she has penned, the newly released Big Food Big Love will be her first cookbook.  The book includes classics from the Wandering Goose menu like the Bubble & Squeak (corned beef briskets with potatoes, onions, poached eggs & spicy bubble sauce), and the Veggie Hash. Come grab your copy at Glasswing or the Wandering Goose!
