About Us
Glasswing is a Seattle design shop, specializing in clothing, plants, and home goods. Our first location, 1525 Melrose Avenue, sits at the center of a small but impactful marketplace including a farm to table restaurant, artisan butcher shop, and a natural wine bar to name a few. We wanted to create a retail space that appropriately represents Seattle, while also providing an engaging environment to be introduced to new products and the designers creating them.
We use our space as a backdrop to host a variety of events and workshops, bringing people together and building community one day at a time. Our workshop program is always hands-on with topics ranging from plant design, like Kokedamas - the Japanese art of moss ball planting - to Natural Dyeing Classes that utilize food waste to create rich hues. In December of 2018, we opened our second retail project the Glasswing Greenhouse. Located a block away on East Olive at Melrose, the Greenhouse was our plant and floral design shop, expanding on the existing plant program at Glasswing. We're minutes from downtown, on the periphery of Capitol Hill's shopping district and hope that you'll spend some time with us the next time you're in the neighborhood.
