Located two miles from the shop, Temple Pastries sits on a sunny corner in the Central District. Morning light moves across the room and a gentle scent of butter meets you at the door. It feels like an anchor in the neighborhood, a cozy place to connect or work from any time of year.
The space feels lived in and welcoming. Pale wood, terrazzo tabletops, and a mezzanine that encourages you to sit for a while with a pastry and a cup of coffee. People read, work, talk, rest, and wander up for another treat. The energy stays calm and unhurried, shaped by a team who takes real care in what they make.
Temple’s pastries are the first thing that draws you in. Croissants with a shattering exterior and a soft layered interior. Cruffins filled with creams and curds that shift with the seasons. Rich morning buns and laminated doughs that show the hours of work behind them. Everything feels made with focus and patience from the mixing of the dough to the final bake.
There is also another side to the space that comes alive later in the day. In the evenings the room shifts, the lights lower, and the ovens fill with Roman style pizzas under the name Sacro Bosco. It feels like a natural extension of the bakery’s rhythm. The same attention to dough, the same devotion to craft, offered in a new form for a different moment of the day.
We love coming here. It is a place where we can work, talk, reset, and pause. There is comfort in the consistency of it and inspiration in the craft. Every visit reminds us of the value of making things slowly, thoughtfully, and with intention. Temple has become a part of our weekly routine and a place we return to with a real sense of gratitude.

Temple’s new book feels like stepping into their kitchen for a moment, full of recipes and reflections that echo the care of their daily work.
To celebrate our 12-year anniversary this weekend, we will be offering complimentary Temple pastries and coffee from Stamp Act in store Friday through Sunday and will have a few copies of the book available for purchase. Order one online here.
