In collaboration with the esteemed Tuscan leather tannery and shoemakers 'Conceria di Cuoiami Guidi e Rosellini' founded in 1896. A four-hole derby featuring goodyear welt construction, a custom anthracite shade of their signature reverse leather, leather laces and a robust commando Vibram rubber sole. This collaboration features their signature vegetable tanned vachetta leather in a custom colorway - a deep earthy greyish brown. When new, the leather is more of a dark anthracite and with wear, they will reveal a warm brown patina.   Each pair comes with a canister of lotion and instructions.The precious leather used to craft Morosino 1907 can present veins, scratches, imperfections or grain differences. These characteristics should not be considered as defects but the result of a vegetable tanning without varnishing which, instead of covering the leather, is aimed at exalting its natural flower. Distinctive traits such as these give the object a unique character. The very dry hand is achieved both through the use of hemp and also the open air drying. The cloth was machine dyed in Kyoto using gallnuts with an iron mordant - these dyers specialize in very consistently colored predominantly natural dye processes - achieved by stabilizing the more unpredictable natural dyes with the use of a small percentage of conventional dye and by dyeing with machines as opposed to by hand. Pooler & Alessandra Rose EP Release Show

  Saturday, May 4thDoors at 7:30 pm, Show at 8:00 pm Limited Engagement   Join us at the gallery space in the Glasswing Greenhouse (1351 E Olive Way) for an intimate show to celebrate the release "Petrichor," a three-song EP from composer/producer Pooler and vocalist Alessandra Rose. The album is born from years of friendship and creative collaboration. The two artists have spent their early careers exploring a variety of sonic avenues both together and apart from Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula to Seattle. The richness of influence and experience is evident in Petrichor’s multitude of textures.    ‘Petrichor’ is a little known word for the regionally familiar scent of rain on dry soil. That earthiness permeates the soundscape of the EP. Pooler used analog and digital synthesizers blended with field recordings for the compositions. Vocalist Alessandra Rose weaves themes of sex, motherhood, and the complexities of interpersonal relationships with her jazz-inflected phrasing. The duo’s collaboration has yielded a collection of songs equally fitting for the dance floor or studio apartment.   Petrichor releases May 4th and is available to stream on all platforms.     Support from Timbreline (DJ Set) Visual Installation by Bradley Pooler Open Bar After Party at Speckled & Drake starting at 10:00 with DJ sets from DJ Florist and Timbreline.    Ticket Sales: 100% of the proceeds directly support the artists. Ficus decora, "Rubber Plant" Burgundy

Ficus decora aka "Rubber Plants" are some of the easiest species to grow indoors and are easily propagated from stem cuttings. They also provide a nice rich hue of dark burgundy and black amidst the typical green foliage.   LIGHT: These plants prefer bright indirect light or direct morning sun. They can adapt to less light if needed.  WATER: Water thoroughly, then allow the top 30% of soil to dry out before watering again. Yellow leaves usually indicate overwatering while brown, crispy leaves usually mean the plant needs more water. Keep the soil even drier in lower light. Overwatering causes leaf drop. TEMPERATURE: An ideal range is 70-80 degrees. Keep plant away from cold drafts, air conditioners, heaters, and fireplaces. The 'Little Fiddle' lyrata is a smaller leaf variety of the Ficus lyrata that grow up to 10'+ indoors. Ficus lyratas are usually available in either a bush form with leaves along the entire stalk of the plant or a tree form with leaves just at the top of the main stalk. If you have a requested shape, please make a note on your order and we will do our best to accommodate.    LIGHT: Bright indirect light. Insufficient light causes small leaves and leaf drop. Too much sun causes the leaves of a Fiddle Leaf Fig to fade and lose their dark green color. WATER: Allow the top 30% of topsoil to dry out and the leaves to become soft and flexible before watering. POTTING: All-purpose organic potting soil and a well draining pot situation is ideal. Ficus microcarpa, also known as Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan, Indian laurel, curtain fig, or gajumaru, is a tree in the fig family Moraceae. It is native in a range from China through tropical Asia and the Caroline Islands to Australia. Ficus Moclame is one of the easier of the ficus trees to care for. LIGHT Bright, indirect light or direct morning sun. Some direct sun is beneficial. WATER Allow top 25% of soil to dry between waterings, then water thoroughly. Yellow leaves or leaf drop of green leaves usually indicates too much water. Brown, shriveled leaves usually indicate the plant needs more wtaer. Floating Kokedama Workshop

A modern take on a traditional technique. In this hands-on workshop, participants create a miniature kokedama, an ornamental planting where roots are wrapped in moss and twine, suspended within a sealed glass cloche. This floating form draws from the Japanese bonsai tradition, where each element is carefully composed to create a living sculpture. Guided by our in-store plant team, you'll explore a range of plant options and learn how to assemble, style, and care for your moss ball terrarium. Participants will get to practice making a regular sized Kokedama prior to the miniature creation. All materials are provided, and each guest will leave with a finished piece. If possible, we will offer a small amount of studio time at the end of the workshop and participants can create additional kokedama. Additional plants sold individually with a $10 potting fee per kokedama.   Next Workshop Sunday, Aug 24 from 11 am - 12:30 pm GREENHOUSE WORKSHOP  This is a hands-on workshop and includes everything needed to create a floating kokedama terrarium.
