Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged.Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out before watering again. Misting the plant regularly or using a humidifier can help maintain humidity. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture.A mix designed for palms or a standard potting mix amended with perlite or sand can work well. Humidity: High humidity is essential for this plant's health. If your home is dry, consider using a humidifier, grouping plants together, or placing the pot on a tray of pebbles and water (without the pot sitting directly in the water). Temperature: The Panama Hat Palm prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C - 27°C). It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures, but avoid exposing it to frost or prolonged periods of cold. Fertilizing: Fertilize sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter. Pruning: Prune any dead or damaged leaves to encourage new growth and maintain the plant's shape. Early spring is a good time for pruning. Repotting: Repot when the plant becomes root-bound, typically when the roots are circling the bottom of the pot. Use a pot that is slightly larger than the previous one.
