A modern take on a traditional technique. In this hands-on workshop, participants create a miniature kokedama, an ornamental planting where roots are wrapped in moss and twine, suspended within a sealed glass cloche. This floating form draws from the Japanese bonsai tradition, where each element is carefully composed to create a living sculpture. Guided by our in-store plant team, you'll explore a range of plant options and learn how to assemble, style, and care for your moss ball terrarium. Participants will get to practice making a regular sized Kokedama prior to the miniature creation. All materials are provided, and each guest will leave with a finished piece.
If possible, we will offer a small amount of studio time at the end of the workshop and participants can create additional kokedama. Additional plants sold individually with a $10 potting fee per kokedama.
