Inspired by traditional Japanese Kogin stitching, a technique that originated in Northern Japan hundreds of years ago. It is one of the sashiko stitching techniques and was used both to embellish clothing, and to create strong reinforcements and repairs.
Due to the wabi-sabi design, there are some parts of this product with visible back thread throughout the design and it is intentional and was intended to add texture and visual interest to the piece and is not a product defect. When wearing, please be careful not to catch the lining thread.
