'Beyond' is Project #12 from Jan Jan Van Essche and includes a special collaboration with Japanese shoemakers, Petrosolaum. We will be debuting both collections in-store this weekend with an opening reception and wine tasting by Cantina Sauvage from 4 - 6 pm on Saturday, Aug 24. Our presentations from JJVE and Petrosolaum, features the color black in all its many shades - seen in textured camouflage pants, specialty knit sweaters, and expressive coats and jackets.
Petrosolaum, founded in 2012, is a handmade shoe collection started by brothers Ryo and Sotaro Ogino in Tokyo. Together, they are creating timeless pieces that integrate both functionality and art using traditional Japanese techniques. Their design principles center around the materiality, always allowing the natural characteristics and features to be the focal point. Each shoe style will age beautifully with wear and frequent use, an heirloom to be preciously kept and passed down.
