Presented by Brain Dead x Glasswing
At SIFF Cinema, Uptown Seattle
To mark the 30-year anniversary of Ghost in the Shell and the opening of the first large scale exhibition dedicated to the film in Tokyo at Tokyo Node, we’re excited to share a collaborative capsule created by Brain Dead to launch alongside screenings of the 1995 anime classic across four cities.
A film that feels less like science fiction as the future of technology continues to accelerate. What’s striking watching it now isn’t how much it predicts technically, but how clearly it frames questions around autonomy, identity, and authorship. It also anticipates how easily the boundaries between corporations, governments, and policing can blur, and how power becomes harder to hold accountable as our systems grow more interconnected and complex.
Before the screening, exclusive Brain Dead x Ghost in the Shell merchandise will be available in the theater. After the film, we’ll host a short conversation reflecting on its relevance today, led by Tim Keck and joined by Dr. Kristy Jost, Amir Amini, and Bertrand Vacherot.
All ticket sales directly support SIFF and independent cinema in Seattle. Tickets are available through SIFF with the link below. We hope you’ll join us.
