We are presenting a curated collection of wall hangings and pillows by Lamine Diouf, made especially for Glasswing. The opening reception for this exhibit is apart of Capitol Hill Art Walk. Limited quantities will be available in-store and online. No two are exactly alike.
Currently living and working in Antwerp, Lamine Diouf is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus in poetry, music, movement, and textiles and all of these specialities influence one another. In his weaving practice, there is a sense of place and storytelling that is inherently present in each piece. Originally from Senegal, Lamine's weavings have an influence of many cultures and traditions yet at the same time, his work is refreshingly his own. Since 2020, he has collaborated with Jan-Jan Van Essche to showcase special hand-woven details or pieces in each of his clothing collections. This symbiotic relationship also allows Diouf access to repurpose exquisite fabrics from the production process, creating a closed loop with little to no waste.
