Abstract Shapes Dress
Abstract Shapes is a capsule clothing collection designed to be worn daily and well-suited for all of life's events from the mundane to something more formal. Designed by our friend, Dinah Dimalanta, this project had humble beginnings with the initial ideas for the collection sewn in her closet, iterating on the same pattern until it felt right. Dinah wanted to create minimal, statement pieces that are easy to style and also have an aesthetic point of view. The result is a collection of three styles that mirror the same pattern offered in a variety of lengths and widths: The crop, tunic, and dress. All styles are currently available in two color-ways, classic black and white.

With an alternative approach to traditional sizing, Abstract Shape pieces are designed with size options that focus on how each garment can be worn rather than thinking ‘what size will fit me’ best. There’s an innate connection when the fit of a garment can truly represent a person’s unique style and point of view. Multiple sizes could fit the same person, often depending on their mood or sensibility in the moment. Although the collection is narrowly focused to start, Dinah does have plans to expand the line with a v-neck and t-shirt sleeve modification in the near future.
“I am a multiples-buying, uniform-dressing person--once I find pieces that I love--and my hope is that Abstract Shapes are just those types of pieces, for all my fellow multiples-buying, uniform-dressing people out there. What I love about Abstract Shapes is that the clothes come to life when paired with the person wearing it, how they choose to style the pieces and adapt Abstract Shapes to be their own unique uniform.” - DD
