ODDFELLOWS CAFE on Capitol Hill
Oddfellows is a place that feels great to be in at anytime of day. The coffee, baked goods, and service are consistently pleasant and the Vintage Americana style is a perfect fit for the easy-come, easy-go attitude inside. We love visiting Oddfellows when natural light is pouring in from the large front windows, and when the weather is really good we enjoy sitting outside on one of their two patios.
SLATE COFFEE ROASTERS in Ballard, Pioneer Square, and the University District
Slate has quickly elevated the culture of coffee in Seattle. In contrast to the bold, dark coffees found throughout the city, this small, family-run business is creating something different. At Slate you'll find a much lighter roast along with baristas who share a precise and slowed-down approach to serving coffee. We typically stay in for our coffee here, and enjoy conversing with the baristas about the origins of their products and the best way to enjoy each one.
ANCHORED SHIP in Ballard
The Anchored Ship sits on an old cobblestone street in Ballard. Although the coffee shop doesn't draw much attention from the outside, it's one of the most vibrant little cafes in the city. Once inside, you'll notice their brightly colored wallpaper and small scale art installations. We usually visit Anchored Ship on Sundays before walking through the Ballard Farmer's Market and although we don't live in the neighborhood, they always make us feel like regulars.
ELM COFFEE ROASTERS in Pioneer Square
This charming cafe occupies one of the sunnier spots in Pioneer Square. The paired back interior design creates a light and airy atmosphere that matches the sophisticated flavors of the coffee being roasted here. We love the staff and can see why Elm quickly became a neighborhood staple for the nearby business district.
ANALOG COFFEE on Capitol Hill
This welcoming cafe is usually packed from morning to afternoon with people working from their laptops or taking in the daily paper. In our neighborhood, Analog is known for serving great coffee with an unpretentious attitude and the person behind the counter is likely to remember your last order. They sealed the deal as one of our favorites when they opened a twelve seat breakfast and lunch spot next door called B-Side. Our go-to for great coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches, Analog is a place we find ourselves coming back to time and again.
