Single Shot opened its doors in 2014 and since then, it has been a favorite of ours to recommended for dining in the neighborhood. The 40-seater restaurant is tucked away in North Capitol Hill, on a seemingly quiet residential street. It's the perfectly sized space that's cozy and at the same time always lively and vibrant. Much of the atmosphere is created by the familiar faces of owner, Rory McCormick and partner, Rachael Dlugolecki. As long time friends of ours, they always know how to make their guests feel welcomed.

Their menu rotates and shifts regularly with the seasons, always reflecting a local flavor palette. Weekend brunch is not to be missed and their cocktail program covers all of the classics, usually with an inventive twist or two. More often than not, there's usually a neighborhood regular or two, posted up at the bar for dinner or popping by to say hello and have a quick nightcap. Everyone is welcomed and made to feel at like they are at home.
