An oversized style dress with a crew neckline, a voluminous fit through the body and slim shirt style long sleeve. The body has a subtle cocoon silhouette that's airy with movement and texture. Made from a crisp slightly wrinkled Japanese cotton, dyed and sun-dried in the traditional Azumadaki process. The focal point of this piece is the vertical ruffle detail at the front panels. Detailed with button closure along the front, and mao stand collar.
The dyeing process in Azumadaki, which has been in use for 300 years, is carried out in small vats by skilled artisans. They take into consideration the temperature and humidity of the day. This small-scale dyeing process, followed by sun drying, results in unique textured fabric, giving it a soft and relaxed feel.
Due to the nature of this craftsmanship, each fabric roll has unique coloration with natural wrinkles.
