Founded in Japan in 2010 by Ryo Kashiwazaki, Hender Scheme takes its name from the concept of “gender schema,” reflecting the brand’s approach to designing beyond traditional ideas of gender. Through footwear, accessories, and everyday objects, Hender Scheme combines contemporary design with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Working primarily with vegetable-tanned leather, each piece is designed to change through use, developing a unique patina and character over time.
