Created with the human experience in mind, there's a focus on form and function always with a natural, simplistic beauty. Postalco pieces encourage a new kind of connection with an object. It's a type of relationship, considering the thing to be “collaborator” in our life instead of approaching items with a disposable mindset.
The collection has been designed and produced in Japan for over 20 years and has grown beyond only offering office goods. These items are meant to be used frequently and with intention and the collection includes though not limited to: Clothing, Rainwear, Pens, Key Holders, Bags, Paper Goods, and others. Each piece in the collection has a commitment in showcasing and highlighting Japanese craft.

Individually crafted solid metal ballpoint pen with a unique U-clip. The entire body is cut from solid aluminum while the clip is cut from solid brass. We found this combination gives the pen the solid feeling we love without being heavy. Included ink cartridge: SXR-5 0.5mm waterproof ink. Instead of a plastic or rubber grip, there are fine record-like lines inscribed into the pen body. Lines cut into the clip give just the grip needed and also create a subtle graph pattern. It feels refined: less like a tool and more like an instrument. This pen embraces traditional craft but with the goal of blending it into everyday contemporary life. Satisfying mechanicsThe clip is also the button that exposes the tip of the ballpoint. Wrap a book with this handmade Farmer’s Felt Nest washi. Two colors are carefully combined while making each sheet to create unique cloud-like patterns. Made in Tokushima, Japan by master papermakers, the cover has a great feel and develops a sheen with use. Includes a pen loop for spur of the moment memo writing. Fits A6 size books or calendars 4.1” x 5.8” (105mm x 148mm). Material In the Paper Kitchen Fujimori-san’s paper factory is like a large kitchen. Bark fiber strips are soaked in water and laid out on tables for trimming. The paper makers wear kitchen aprons and hats. These handmade papers use much longer fibers than standard machine made papers. Polishing each sheet by hand with the famously smooth fresh Tsubaki leaf (Japanese camelia) finishes the unique texture. Kozo (Mulberry) bark fibers are the strongest of the washi fibers and is the main ingredient in Farmer’s Felt. It is grown as a sustainable farm crop, regenerating every year. Kozo is a completely renewable resource. Branches to make the fibers are judiciously trimmed allowing the plant to grow back yearly. Acid free and archival. The fabric is made with the same machines used to make tent fabric. The base color of the white threads will become more apparent and it will soften with use. To keep the natural feeling of the material, no waterproof coating was applied. There is a light water resistant treatment. Cotton is a natural material so slubs and irregularity in the fibers are part of its character. It is possible for wrinkles to appear as well. A compact wallet, nicely sized to fit cards, cash folded in half, receipts, and coins. The design features three large pockets and card slots with up to a 10 card capacity. The noticeably taller center pocket is designed to safely and securely coins. Polished metal zipper with Postalco's original cut brass zipper pull. Geology Goatskin exterior lined with pigskin and calfskin. material The earthy surface of this leather resembles tiny mountain ranges and river valleys as seen from high up in the atmosphere. These miniature landscapes are created by shrinking the leather. As part of the tanning process the leather grain is tightened and shrunken until the distinctive textured surface is created. Calfskin interior is also vegetable tanned and aniline dyed. The grain is very fine and tightly packed allowing it to be durable and soft at the same time. With use it will continue to soften and develop a patina. A simply designed case for writing utensils but also for small work tools such as scissors and protractors. It is specifically designed to pack flat when empty and expand to fit everything you need to get work done. Made from a durable pressed cotton canvas and leather for durability. MATERIAL Smooth surface cowhide is tanned using vegetable tannins from the mimosa tree. Vegetable tanning takes more time but does not use the toxic compounds needed for chrome tanned leather. Aniline dyes soak into the leather leaving visible the natural variation in grain and texture. The more aniline dyed leather is used, the better the surface patina gets over time.
