Senecio peregrinus, "String of Dolphins"

A creeping, perennial, succulent that grows as a vine and is native to the drier parts of southwest Africa in the Asteraceae family. String of Dolphins are characterized by their iconic dolphin-shaped leaves and long hanging tendrils.    LIGHT: This plant does well in full to part sun. New growth is legging with insufficient light.  WATER: Allow top 25% of soil to dry thoroughly between waterings. Fall through winter, allow top 50% of soil to dry. Shriveled leaves indicate the plant needs more water. Often mistaken for a banana plant because of its large leaves, this lush and beautiful plant thrives indoors. It is native to South Africa where it often blooms, but will rarely produce a flower indoors.   LIGHT: Full to part sun. Rotate plant so light is even on all sides. Some direct sun is beneficial.  WATER: Allow top 30% of soil to dry between waterings, then thoroughly soak the plant. This plant needs less water in the fall and winter. Curling leaves could be a sign that the plant needs more water. High humidity preferred. FERTILIZER: Once per month during the active growing season. Stromanthe Triostar (Stromanthe sanguinea 'Triostar') is a member of the Marantaceae family, known for its vibrant foliage. Originating in tropical regions of South America, its variegated leaves feature shades of green, cream, and pink, creating a striking visual display. This plant's popularity as a decorative indoor plant has grown due to its stunning appearance and adaptability to various light conditions.   LIGHT Bright, indirect light or direct morning sun is best. WATER Keep lightly moist (not soggy) at all times. Avoid getting water in the crown, otherwise the plant may rot or develop fungal diseases. High humidity is a must. Misting often is recommended for this plant.
