An ideal two-hole punch to match Postalco Snap Pads. This solid metal puncher makes holes in about 16 sheets of paper at once, so you can have as much paper as you need for your Snap Pad. To use make holes in the top edge of the papers with a standard 2-hole puncher and snap them into the Snap Pad. To use the A5 size, just cut the A4 (or 8½ x 11") papers in half, punch holes, and snap them in! For A6 size, cut the A4 paper into four equal pieces.   The Tohaku candle shape is an homage to the 'Pine Trees screen,’ drawn by Tohaku Hasegawa, one of the most famous painters in Japan. The pine trees in the paintings are from the landscape of Nanao City, and he drew it while recollecting his memories of the beautiful nature of his childhood home. The flame is an extension of the gentle lines of these trees, a reminder of a rustic simplicity.   Since 1892, Takazawa preserves the tradition of Japanese candle-making with superb craftsmanship while utilizing unique locally sourced plant materials. The thick wicks are made from washi paper wound with dried grass. Book & Calendar Cover Nest

Wrap a book with this handmade Farmer’s Felt Nest washi. Two colors are carefully combined while making each sheet to create unique cloud-like patterns. Made in Tokushima, Japan by master papermakers, the cover has a great feel and develops a sheen with use. Includes a pen loop for spur of the moment memo writing. Fits A6 size books or calendars 4.1” x 5.8” (105mm x 148mm).   Material In the Paper Kitchen Fujimori-san’s paper factory is like a large kitchen. Bark fiber strips are soaked in water and laid out on tables for trimming. The paper makers wear kitchen aprons and hats. These handmade papers use much longer fibers than standard machine made papers. Polishing each sheet by hand with the famously smooth fresh Tsubaki leaf (Japanese camelia) finishes the unique texture. Kozo (Mulberry) bark fibers are the strongest of the washi fibers and is the main ingredient in Farmer’s Felt. It is grown as a sustainable farm crop, regenerating every year. Kozo is a completely renewable resource. Branches to make the fibers are judiciously trimmed allowing the plant to grow back yearly. Acid free and archival.
