Dieffenbachias are fast-growing houseplants that have interesting leaf patterns and colors. Also called "Dumb Cane", these plants are highly toxic and should not be ingested or pruned without gloves.
LIGHT
Dieffenbachias prefer bright, indirect light or direct morning sun. Too much light will cause leaf color to fade or leaves to burn. Too little light produces small foliage.
WATER
Allow top 25% of soil to dry between waterings. If soil is too dry, bottom leaves may yellow. If soil is too moist, stems may turn mushy. During the winter season watering should be reduced.
FERTILIZER
Once per month during the active growing season.
TEMPERATURE
60-80F. If exposed to cold drafts, the bottom leaves may turn yellow or the leaves may droop.
NOTES
Flowers are insignificant and should be removed to provide more energy for new growth.
