Aglaonema Cutlass "Chinese Evergreen"

The Aglaonema is a highly decorative plant with several interesting varieties. It is one of the most popular houseplants with a wide range of color combinations and leaf shapes. They are slow-growing, attractive, and make excellent foliage plants. They have large, narrow, and glossy oval leaves on short stems. In regard to light, a good rule is that the lighter the variegation, the more light it needs. LIGHT: The darker green varieties of Aglaonema can grow in near shade, while the variegated varieties require brighter light. Do not expose any Aglaonema to direct sun. WATER: Allow top 25% of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly in the summer and mist the plant often to raise the humidity. During the winter, reduce watering, but do not let the plant dry out completely. TEMPERATURE: These plants do not like cold drafts or temperatures below 65 F. Keep them away from drafty windows or vents. Keep them warm in the winter. POTTING: A well-drained all purpose potting soil is perfect. FERTILIZER: Feed your Aglaonema with an all-purpose fertilizer during the growing season. TOXICITY: Plant is toxic and should be kept away from pets and children. PREORDER FOR MARCH 20, 2026 The vernal equinox marks the moment when winter loosens its hold and the season begins its slow shift toward spring. Just before this event, a thin waxing crescent moon will appear low in the western sky beside bright Venus, the evening planet long associated with love and beauty. Inspired by this celestial pairing, we created a seasonal centerpiece draped in soft red and blush tones. Highlighting the first blossoms of the season and the light beginning to linger a little longer each evening. In collaboration with Jess Gring of Odd Flowers, this floral arrangement is available to preorder for local Seattle delivery or in-store pickup at Glasswing on Friday, March 20th. If you'd prefer to subscribe to our quarterly floral arrangements, please purchase our Solstice subscription instead of this individual preorder. FLOWER / GREENS AVAILABILITY Each of our arrangements is a unique and handmade expression. Anthurium pterodactyl is native to Central America and grows as an epiphyte (they grow on trees and tree branches.) They are often drenched in nature from frequent rains, but they will dry out quickly because their roots are much more exposed because of the way they grow. Be sure to provide good drainage.
