A Taste of Burundi, Stamp Act Coffee Tasting Workshop

In partnership with local coffee roasters, Stamp Act Coffee we are hosting a coffee tasting event featuring eight Burundian coffees. All proceeds from this event will support Long Miles’ reforestation project, “Trees for Kibiria.” On the nose and on the tongue, the coffee blushes bright with notes of raspberry accented with citrus. Its well-balanced, velvety body carries hints of herb and chocolate straight through to its distinctive lingering floral finish. The complex flavor profile distinguishes Burundi coffee from other African coffees. Course Includes:Burundi coffee tasting, 8 varieties12 oz. "Coffee" Aurum Goods Natural Dyeing Workshop

Archived Workshop: Coffee has been brewed and enjoyed for more than five centuries. It also proves to be a powerful dyeing agent that is not only all natural but also aromatic in the process. Our upcoming workshop focuses on three dyeing techniques. Explore the history and art of dyeing with us. Each participant will have the opportunity to experiment dyeing multiple items as well as leave with the skills to repeat the process at home. This is a hands-on workshop so please come dressed appropriately. Class run time is approximately 2 hours. Course Includes:Cotton Tote BagHandkerchiefKitchen Dish TowelBasic Cotton Tee We encourage you to bring your own goods to dye, but please limit 1-2 items, and avoid bulky pieces (towels, linens, bedding etc.) as vat space and time are limited. "Nature's Paint" Aurum Goods Natural Dyeing Workshop

Archived Workshop: Join us for "Nature's Paint" a natural dyeing workshop with Aurum Goods designer Maddie Morton. This workshop will utilize colors derived from Turmeric and Rose to create one-of-a-kind pieces on natural fabrics. Explore the history and art of dyeing with us. Each participant will leave with multiple items in an array of natural colors and shapes and the skills to repeat the process at home. This is a hand-on workshop so please come dressed appropriately. Class run time is approximately 2 hours. Kokedama Workshop, Living Vessels

Class Description Kokedama is a style of Japanese bonsai in which a plant's root system is wrapped in moss and bound with string, transforming it into a living sculpture. Loosely translated, koke means 'moss' and dama means 'ball'. These decorative hanging plants are a strikingly beautiful accent for any room at home. There are many different plants that can thrive in a kokedama planting, and in this class, we'll explore some of the different options. CLASS DETAILS In this class, you'll create two kokedama ball. Floral Arranging Workshop

During this hands-on class, we will discuss how to incorporate seasonal flowers and foliage in arrangements. Participants will also learn basic flower conditioning techniques, and create centerpiece and accent arrangements. This information will be a great starting point for those who want to learn more about the floral industry while at the same time sharpening their design skills. The class includes a bouquet design that you create and take home. Limited space is available.
